Supporter Bill Buss demonstrates fire extinguisher safety at an open house

Our member spotlight for the month of July is Supporter Bill Buss. Bill has supported countless events and efforts at our fire department for several years. “I joined as a supporter because I wanted to feel involved with a good cause I like being part of the team and knowing that I’m making a difference in a good way.” When helping out at the fire department, you’ll see Bill assisting with events and helping to keep our station in tip top shape. Outside of the fire department, Bill enjoys cooking, gardening, walking. Bill is also a platelet donor and has donated 46 gallons to-date to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center! When asked what he would tell someone considering volunteering, Bill says, “volunteering builds self-confidence and helps support your community.”

Join Bill and other members of your community by volunteering with our fire department! There is always work to be done by folks who have a wide range of skills and interest. We are always accepting applications for firefighters and supporting members. Contact us on Facebook, at, or stop by on a Monday night at 6:30pm to learn about this rewarding experience.
