The Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department is a 501c(3) organization, which means that monetary donations are usually tax deductible.
*** Important Note: The Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department has only one fund drive per year. We mail this directly to the residents and property owners. We have heard from residents that they receive phone solicitations and/or “occupant” requests for donations. These solicitations do not benefit your local fire services. We use no outside solicitors; our volunteers do all the work with the exception of printing.

Message From The Chief:
Thank you for taking the time to read through our 2017 Fund Drive. The Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department covers all of Weisenberg Township and provides mutual aid service to neighboring communities. In 2016 our department was dispatched to 196 emergency incidents in and around Weisenberg Township.
It's a proven fact that volunteer fire departments save communities millions of dollars each year. Unfortunately, across the country the numbers of volunteers are decreasing at an alarming rate. Here in Weisenberg Township we are fortunate to have a strong group of caring and motivated individuals who invest countless hours in our community. Our firefighters respond to a variety of emergency incidents, attend regular trainings and advanced classes, maintaining the building and equipment, provide public education, etc. Our supporting members run our fundraising and community events as well as assist with miscellaneous duties. A mixture of firefighters and supporting members work together to perform the normal administrative functions required in order for any non-profit organization to operate properly.
As is the case with everything today, our operating & equipment costs continue to rise. We recently replaced our 1990 Ford F-350 brush/utility truck. The old truck was overloaded and was experiencing mechanical issues. A new 2017 Ford F-350 dual wheeled chassis with custom utility body to house our equipment is now in service. Proceeds from this year's fund drive will be used to replenish our savings funds which were drastically reduced by the replacement of this vehicle.
We are always looking for new firefighters and supporting members in order to maintain a successful organization. Membership applications can be found on our website. Anyone interested in becoming a part of our team or learning more about our organization are welcome to stop in during our regular trainings held every Monday evening starting at 6:30pm or can come talk to us during one of our community events.
Whether it's by making a tax-deductible donation or by becoming a member I hope you decide to support our organization.
