Our member spotlight for December is Randy Zack. Randy has been a volunteer firefighter for the past 23 years. He joined Fogelsville Fire Company in 1998 and became a charter member of Weisenberg Fire Department upon its inception. In addition to being a firefighter, he has held a number of administrative positions. He has been Quartermaster, Fire Prevention Officer, Department Secretary and most recently Department President.
Randy became a firefighter because, among other things, he wanted a way to get more involved locally and actively give back to the community. He enjoys the challenge, excitement, and opportunity to learn new skills. However, what he finds most rewarding is helping people in the township.
Randy has been delivering fire safety presentations to local schools and community organizations for many years. He is frequently asked by the kids if he has ever rescued a cat from a tree? So far, he has not (but he has rescued people from trees).
Join Randy by helping your community through volunteering with our fire department. Contact us on Facebook, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by on a Monday night at 6:30pm. We have open volunteer positions for firefighters and supporting members – always!
